Eva Longoria Lives Bright Side Up!

Monday, January 9th, 2012

I had a blast interviewing the February 2012 cover star of Health magazine for this month: Eva Longoria.

Partly because I think she’s a hilarious actress. Partly because I’m inspired by her activism and charity work which she somehow squeezes into her already busy life as a successful businesswoman. And partly because she’s as much of an optimist as I am!

Eva has a positivity that’s addictive and essentially lives her life Bright Side Up—much like my new book! So it was fun to hear her talk about how she’s been able to flip the tough times in her life into good ones by seeing her experiences from a more positive perspective.

Check out my full interview with Eva Longoria on Health.com, which is also featured as “Eva’s Happy Life Moves” on CNN.com and TheHuffingtonPost.com. (We really got around this month!)

I hope her happy life moves inspire you!

HEALTH Magazine names The Dating Optimist a “Blog We Adore”

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

It’s a great month for The Dating Optimist, the blog I run to provide small doses of love and life positivity when you really need it. Pick up the Jan/Feb 2011 issue of Health magazine, and you’ll see that my blog was named a “Blog We Adore” for the issue, and featured a quote from the blog archives. Hilariously, it was from a posting called “Dexter and You: Take Your Leap of Faith.” Nothing like finding comfort in life from the character of a serial killer!

But you know what? That’s precisely the point of my site, The Dating Optimist: Positive life messages can be found in the craziest places, sometimes. And I want to do my part to help you work on your focus to find them all around you. Joy and optimism can be ours if we make the choice to use it.

So thanks Health magazine, I adore you right back!

The Daily News on Half-Oranges: “Grab It!”

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

It was such a sweet treat to see that the New York City newspaper The Daily News found and featured my little App at the end of summer! App Momma is so darn proud. Here is the Sunday edition of the paper with my iPhone App Half-Orange Optimisms, listed under the “Grab it!” section of the App reviews.

“We all need pick-me-ups now and then,” the writer says in her review, “especially if we’re prepping to put ourselves out there.” She’s right. So if you have an iPhone and could use a pep talk in your pocket, give the App a go and see what you think!

Here’s page one, for a taste of the article. You can read the whole interview in the July/August issue, or head to Health.com to see what she had to say.
